Step 1 - Remove anything attached to your battery.
Step 2 - Make sure the battery is off (Click here for instructions for turning your battery on and off).
Step 3 - Inspect your battery contact and threads (see figure 1). Make sure the contact and threads are clear of any oil, residue, rust or other obstruction.
If you need to clean this area:
1) Make sure your battery is off.
2) Use a toothpick and/or cotton swab with a very small amount of rubbing alcohol to clean the area. If there is rust or other hard substance, you can use a small piece of fine sandpaper to remove it. WARNING - do not use any metal or other conductive material when cleaning the contact or threads.
3) Once the area is clean, make sure it is completely dry using a cloth or paper towel.
Step 4 - Connect your battery to your charger (Click here if you need charging instructions).
Step 5 - Plug battery connected to charger into any USB charger or port that you know works for sure.
Step 6 - Look at the charger status light (see figure 2). The charger status light should be red until the battery is fully charged at which point the light will turn green. If the charger status light does not come on, please try a different USB port or charger. If you have tried two or more USB ports please click here to review our return information. If the charger light is red, please allow up to 24 hrs for it to turn green before going to the next step. If after 24 hrs the charger light has not turned green please click here to review our return information.
Step 7 - Now that the charger light has turned green, please disconnect the battery from the charger and try to turn the battery on. Once the battery is on, any time you hold the button down, the light ring around the button should turn bright green. As the battery loses its charge, the light ring will turn orangish, then reddish, then not light at all. It is not necessary to wait until the battery is fully discharged to recharge it. Your PurToke battery and charger both have overcharge protection built in so you should feel free to recharge your battery as often as is needed. If the battery light will not turn green, please click here to review our return information
Step 8 - Attach your freshly charged battery to a vape cartridge that you know works. If the cartridge works, the battery is good.
Step 8(a) - If you don't have a working vape cartridge, as long as the battery light turns green when you turn it on and hold it on, you can assume that your battery is working.
